I am keen to share with you some details and photo’s that I believe will give you both confidence and assurance as we embark on the design plan for a special room for your little one. Your brief given to me at our first meeting was for the room to reflect the joys and enduring qualities of childhood as well as for the design of the room to be able to grow and evolve as your child does.
Having just finished an amazing room for a little boy called Lachlan, who is in love with all things trains, there is a lot to love in both the colours and the interest we have injected into the overall style and feel of his room.
The things that I have kept in mind to enhance personalisation of this room were the items that were precious to the family that had been given to Lachlan. One of these was a special knitted blanket by his Grandmother that has been with him since birth and drapes on his bed as if waiting there for those quiet times and cuddles with his family member or special toy. The colours in that blanket I incorporated along with the fabrics used in roman blinds for the windows and also the large hand painted canvas by the artist that is prominent in his room, which he loves.
I also designed a railway sign which we set on some old timber and had made in such a way that it looked authentic and rusted with age. As he has been now on special trips with his family on a variety of trains and been at train stations he is fascinated with this addition in his special room.
I hope this is inspirational and I am looking forward to the presenting you with a unique concept for your child’s room that you will love based on all the idea’s we have so far formulated together. My goal is to have the design work perfectly for your space and for it to feel like it is just what you wanted.
